This may end up being a longish blog post. My knitting life has changed forever (for the better)! As you know, I’ve been on maternity leave for a while. So what have I been doing (aside from A LOT of dirty diapers and breastfeeding and baby playing)? Basically, early on, I ran out of good shows on Netflix. The only show worth watching right now is Star Trek: The Next Generation. Data is SO adorable; I can’t handle it.

Rather than trolling for new shows, I delved into the world of knitting video podcasts. Listed below is what I am currently watching.

A Homespun House

The Fawn Knits

Little Bobbins Knits

Tiny Paper Foxes

Sticks + Twine

Andre Sue Knits

Knitting Expat

Seriously, check these out! I really wish I had enough time to provide a description of each, but Little Linus just isn’t going to give me a long enough break to do that. I will say that some of these people have their own shops that sell BEAUTIFUL project bags and hand dyed yarn, among other things. Also, as I am caught up on all of these (at least from December to present), please, please let me know if you have any others you recommend!

Something that ALL of these podcasts have in common is a mitered square blanket, which has lovingly been dubbed the Cozy Memories Blanket by Molly, the host of A Homespun House. There are tons of patterns for this on Ravelry and so I won’t link to a particular one. Naturally, I had to start one. It’s SO addictive. I did have an abundance of leftover sock yarn, which is where most of my squares came from, but I also joined a swap group in Ravelry, and received some minis for Christmas. Here’s most of mine so far.

I’ve also finished 2 pairs of socks so far this year. I’m participating in the Box O’ Sox KAL, hosted by Kristin of the YarnGasm Podcast. This means a minimum of 12 pairs of socks over then entire year. These two were from some subscription yarn I’ve been hoarding.

Rose City Rollers by Mara Catherine Bryner / Hedgehog Fibres Sock (Hummingbird) – I started these when I was pregnant, and actually knit on them a bit in the hospital when my labor was being induced.

Very Vanilla Socks by Jo-Anne Klim / Life in the Long Grass Fine Sock (Candlelight)

Alright, time to cast on some Valentine’s Day socks! Thanks for reading ❤

Love these projects, Maribeth! I’m working on a mitered square blanket too! (The Hue Shift Afghan pattern) I’m excited to check out some of these podcasts you’ve recommended!

Hope all is well with sweet little Linus!
